Residential

For us designing homes is one of the most interesting disciplines. It involves not only the skills of architecture but relations, understanding and connectivity as well. Its a personal journey into ones needs and desires. We humbly apply all our skills in the designing of a home.

product design

We use our passion for product design as an essential part of architecture. In a time where design is often chosen from a catalog rather then designed tailor made, it is crucial to understand and design in all scales in order to grasp the essence and quality of real architecture.

X-prize

The Affordable Housing XPRIZE focuses on a fundamental aspect of Maslow’s Pyramid of Needs – the need for safe, affordable, and desirable housing. Housing is one of our most basic human needs, yet due to rapidly increasing urbanization, it is in alarmingly short supply in our very own neighborhoods, our nations, and throughout the world.

The Affordable Housing Visioneers Team seeks to spark exponential leaps in construction technologies, speed and safety – ultimately decreasing both the time and cost it takes to make affordable housing available. The time to act is now. Information-enabled technologies are ripe to revolutionize the construction industry and solve this affordability crisis, creating meaningful change worldwide.

The world is experiencing a global housing crisis. About 1.6 billion people live in substandard housing. Access to affordable and secure housing enables a healthier society; a lack thereof leaves individuals vulnerable and ultimately limits access to other necessities for healthy living such as healthcare and education.

The housing crisis, while affected by many factors, stems also from a lack of innovation in the construction industry over the past 250 years. It is no surprise, therefore, that global housing supply continues to fall depressingly short of demand, resulting in an ever-growing global deficit of 300 million housing units. As a result, 23 percent of earth's inhabitants lack affordable and secure housing. Within 15 years, it is estimated this percentage will rise to 40 percent of the total world population.

תומי (תומר נתנאל לוי) מעצב תעשייתי צעיר, בוגר המחלקה לעיצוב תעשיית במכון טכנולוגי חולון, חי ופועל כעצמאי בתל אביב. טל הראל, אדריכל צעיר, בוגר הפוליטכניקו של מילאנו, חי במילאנו ועובד במשרד אדריכלים. הכרנו בתקופת הצבא וכל אחד המשיך לדרכו בלימודים

חברנו לראשונה בינואר במטרה לפתח כיסא לתצוגה בסלון הרהיטים, רצינו להרגיש איך זה לעשות ולהציג כיסא באיטליה, אז התחלנו… הצגנו ומכרנו בגלריה רוזאנה אורלנדי את המהדורה הראשונה של "כסא״ אינטרפטציה מודרנית שלנו לכיסא הטברנה הקלאסי שכולם אוהבים

:ההכנות

תומי הגיע למילאנו ופשוט יצאנו לדרך: חודש מרץ היה הרפתקאה אינטנסיבית ומעניינת של ייצור ששת הכיסאות הראשונים, מבירורים ונסיעות דרך בעלי מלאכה שונים ועד ללילות לבנים של קליעה ידנית במרתפים איטלקיים. בדיעבד הסתבר שסיימנו בדיוק ברגע המתאים

:במילאנו

קשה להגדיר את שבוע העיצוב עצמו כחוויה נפרדת מכל המסע הזה. הגלריה של רוזאנה אורלנדי היא מקום מיוחד, מוקד עלייה לרגל בתוך כאוס העיצוב שעוטף את העיר. המון אנשים הופתעו מהתהליך, אבל המחמאה הגדולה ביותר היא ללא ספק רכישת הכיסאות: הלילה שאחרי מכירת הכסאות הראשונים הוא ודאי הרגע שהכי פחות זכור לנו

:חודשיים אחרי

מיד בסיום שבוע העיצוב עברנו לייצור מהדורה שנייה, בפלטת צבעים שמתאימה לגלריה, עם שינויים שנובעים מהתפתחות הפרויקט בקנה מידה גדול יותר. התצוגה היוותה קרש קפיצה רציני גם לנו כיוצרים וגם לכיסא כמוצר שמחפש להתפתח בכיוונים שונים. עכשיו אנחנו מחממים את התנור לשיתוף פעולה נוסף ואוביקטים חדשים

המסקנה העיקרית היא לא להירתע וללכת עם החשק עד הסוף: אנחנו מאמינים שגם בעידן שבו הגלובליזציה וקשרים במדיות שונות הפכו לנורמה, אין עדיין תחליף לעשיית דברים באופן פרונטלי

Casa Del Mestiere

"Casa Del Mestiere"  is a Book by Giovanni Iacometti curated by Tal Harel & Amedeo Luvie, Published by the prestigious editor - Raffaello Cortina Editore

The book presents the work of over 100 students in their first year of architecture studies. These projects realised during Iacometti's laboratory. The laboratory's theme "Home to a professional" a house associated to a place of work.  The quality of the projects is extremely high due to a methodological way of teaching based on theory of rational thinking. Ideas born from a study of typology and form and not out of pure instinct.
